YSL Glossy Stain Dupes - American Lip Tints and Stains ♥

Hello my lovelies! I'm back again! Sorry for the very late posts nowadays - I have exams coming up and I'm still not used to this year's workload argh. Anyways today, I have list of YSL Glossy Stain dupes for you! If you haven't already read my round-up of the YSL Glossy Stain, simply click here to read it before continuing on! This will probably be a extremely picture-heavy post (more than usual) so let's just get right into it!

American/European YSL Glossy Stain Dupes

Loreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine/Aqua Lacquer Stain

Ulta.com - $9.99 USD
This is definitely the most known/popular dupe for the YSL Glossy Stain. Some say it's better than the real deal and some say it's far worse. In my opinion, they have quite a nice variety of colours even though there are only 12 shades and if I had to pick, I'd choose Infinite Fuschia or Berry Persistent even though they aren't colours I'd usually go for!

Maybelline Colour Elixir Lip Colour

Ulta.com - $8.99 USD
Oh my god, I've been really liking these since I first heard of them on Erica's blog (Click here for the review). I really like the look of Raspberry Rhapsody, Rose Redefined, Mauve Mystique, Captivating Carnation and yeah! Too bad there isn't a red in this line - I was pretty surprised considering there are so many mauvey and plummy shades.

Milani Power Lip Lasting & Moisturising Gloss Stain

Milanicosmetics.com - $6.49 USD

I haven't really heard much of this one and it appears that it hasn't reached many drugstores in the US yet. I don't think I'll ever try this simply because it's so hard to find online (and even then it probably won't ship to New Zealand). Love the look of Pink Lemonade but it doesn't seem like anything special.

Rimmel London Apocalips Lip Lacquer

Asos.com - $12.21 USD
I really like quite a few colours in this range! They all seem super pigmented - even the lighter ones - from swatches online and I'm really considering getting a few - especially cause they're so cheap! Not to mention, you can buy these off Asos.com which means free shipping worldwide! Woo! I'm thinking of ordering either Celestial or Nova or maybe even Galaxy for when it gets colder here! Stellar and Big Bang seem like lovely reds and argh! I just want everything!

Topshop Gloss Ink
Topshop.com - $13.32 USD
After seeing this on Fleur De Force's blog, I'm currently re-evaluating my stance on... clothing store makeup/beauty products..? I don't really know if there's like a proper term for it but what I basically mean is that I only like to buy makeup/beauty products from beauty/cosmetic brands that are sold at drugstores, supermarkets and department stores etc. Like whenever I see makeup/nail polish etc. at like a clothing store such as Cotton On or Forever 21, I never think about buying it cause it just seems like most of the time, it'll come out horrible and cheap quality.

But I don't know, even though the Gloss Ink looks and sounds really good from her post, I still have the whole don't-buy-makeup-from-clothing-stores mindset in my head. Like I'd rather play it safe and buy from a legitimate cosmetics brand cause they actually specialise in that field. Not to mention, the Gloss Ink is actually more harder to find that most of the other lip stains and is also more expensive?!

And that's the end of today's post! It appears I only found 5 American/European dupes for the YSL Glossy Stain but I have a HUGE list of Korean dupes! That's going to be coming up as soon as I finish adding photos and everything but in the meantime, let me know if you've tried any of these and if you liked this post!

Lots of Love,

Michelle ♥

  1. Oooh I haven't tried the YSL ones (or haven't actually even heard of it tbh) but I have bought one of the Loreal Colour Riche Caresse Wet Shine lip glosses and it does certainly have a nice deep~ish colour but just enough =) Quite enjoy using it

  3. I have two Apocalips and I have a love-hate relationship with them XD
To my ideal stain products would be Lime Crimes velvitines, but sadly they are quite expensive these days....

Take care, have a nice day!*

  7. Mmmm the Apocalips seem so lovely and nice when I swatch them on my hands - but when they go on my lips they look far too blue for my skintone which sucks cause Nova looks gorgeous! And the Lime Crime Velvetines look really good but yeah - they're definitely on the pricier side for me! x

  8. I'm still waiting for the Maybelline Elixirs to finally come out in New Zealand! The Revlon Lacquer/Matte balms still haven't arrived yet. -_-
